Important matters concerning the existence of Humanity - BACON

They are slicing it very thin. Got a bunch in the freezer.
Mine isn’t sliced too thin. I also like it thicker, so I do actually double stack it when I cook it. Also picked up a box of ‘ends’ for cooking. They are big and chunky pieces of meat, that are REALLY good in soups, and my BEST baked beans. That have been requested by my Mid for T-day.B02898D9-95B7-48A9-A767-5E81D20F417A.jpeg

I'm in awe.

Depending on the size of the pieces, they will work well in Turkey stuffing.

Dinner tonight: warm homemade nicely spiced pumpkin pie, bacon, baby spinach salad. It’s a little ritual of ours when we head off to relatives for Thanksgiving. They don’t do pumpkin pie, so we check that off in advance. Bacon for dinner protein, why not, and a big dark green salad. Actually, eating a piece of bacon and taking a bite of warm pie is quite harmonious.

There are a couple of other things we prepare and eat before we go, so either DH or I get a particular block checked, which we know from past experience will not be satisfied. They don’t involve bacon, so no need to elaborate here. It’s all about being with family anyway - first full-on gathering since 2019.

Brunch during The Game. Go Blue!!! And Go Navy!!! DS has a good friend aboard ship who is a grad of that other school. They attended BDOC and OOD Phase 1 together. Unfortunately they are many times zones away and underway so bragging rights will have to wait. Hoping my DS gets them in the end.
