Hosting our Thanksgiving weekend breakfast this morning at 10 for some friends and neighbors, which involves Christmas china, a Serious Menu, and naturally, pounds of Wright’s bacon served up. The house smells like mulled cider, bacon, cinnamon…

One of our alumni sponsor family is back in the area for duty. He and his wife are bringing something he calls “Sausage Bacon Balls,” for which I have high hopes. I will report back.

We did have bite-sized warm cheddar cornmeal muffins, as well as drop biscuits with homemade pimento cheese to spread on them.

The Sausage Bacon Balls were a lovely addition. Size of meatballs and baked until crispy on outside. Spicy sausage, bacon bits, chopped onion, red pepper flakes, shredded cheese, breadcrumbs and egg. Good for a crowd. No bacon left.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday I made bacon the Wright way.
Three 1-1/2 pound packages of the stuff.

I am taken aback and must contemplate. Dark chocolate and bacon, yes, sweet white “stuf”… not my favorite part. I like the Oreo Thins. Less white stuff.

I’m actually not buying this the more I think about it. That white stuff would be gone, with any amount of heat.
