Important matters concerning the existence of Humanity - BACON

You should have doled these out over a few days. So much richness.
I just slapped some Wright’s in the skillet to have alongside some overnight McCann’s steel-cut Irish oatmeal with raisins and almonds. We are expecting one whole inch of snow any minute, so I thought it best to bacon up.
 
I had a leftover piece of bacon this morning after breakfast. I also have a 13 week old puppy. Fortunately I avoided giving it to her and creating another bacon monster like my last dog!!! More bacon for me!! :cool:
 
I've followed this thread for - can it be? four months? And I have a story.

As you know I teach introductory majors biology at my college. During the ecology unit, we discuss energy transfer between trophic (food) levels, like from plant to pig, pig to human and so on. Living in a midwestern state that is responsible for raising a lot of your future bacon (and steak) I have to tread carefully when I come to the reasons for eating a plant-based diet. I could easily be vegetarian, I tell them, but for three reasons:

1. Bacon.
2. A really good, mid-rare, grass-fed burger, just by itself, on a fresh brioche bun at the end of a sultry July day. (Okay, with a sliced tomato fresh from the garden, a little S&P, to accompany it.)
3. Bacon.

I love me my BACON, but both of these are just wrong ! Coffee should be hot and black (see seperate coffee thread); Beer should be water, malted barley, hops and yeast. Nothing more, nothing less. (Don't get me started on fruit in beer (except for certain beers where a slice of lime is necessary to flavor what is essentially water).
 
Bacon going in my dinner tonight. Cracked out tater tot casserole. For sure a comfort food my 4 teenage boys will love on this freeezzzzzing cold snowy grey day.

Had to hop over here and focus on BACON 🥓. People are getting antsy over in Forumville.
 
I apparently have bacon-induced Alzheimers. The how to cold start a dog video was posted in the last page of this thread.

I love healthy debate about bacon, thankfully it will not involve statistical analysis of unknowns.

So, chewy or crispy?
I for one am in between, but not wimpy bacon.

Haha! No statistics...
Any bacon is better than no bacon but if I get to choose I’ll lean medium crispy
