Important matters concerning the existence of Humanity - BACON

There is more BACON 🥓 than USNA APPOINTMENTS

That's because bacon is an outstanding candidate.

It shows superior performance in all its classes -- breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, even dessert.

Does particularly well in STEM: Saturated fat, Taste, Energy, Medicinal.

Has strong extracurriculars -- as a sandwich or an entree or a side dish or a topping or a mix-in.

Does well on SAT: Satisfying and Absolutely Tasty.

Scores high on CFA: Cholesterol, Fat, Arteriosclerosis.

Above all, demonstrates leadership -- is the absolute best among all meats (with the possible exception of U.S. Prime ribeye).

Oh, and has multiple nominations! Because who doesn't love bacon?

I nominate this for SABF sticky tab. Absolutely fantastic 🏆

I changed my signature to show solidarity to the cause. I also had a little bacon in my eggs this morning.

Can anyone remember the worst bacon they ever had? It was pretty good, wasn't it?
Uh...yeah, it was NOT good...

Picture if you will....Operation Earnest Will...and you're a young combat pilot...and you're told: "OFF YOU GO!!! Protect shipping!!" And you fly off into the blue and land in...

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

And they put you in a fancy (well, it was fancy in 1960-ish) hotel...with armed guards all around and a dining room that serves your meals. And for breakfast: toast, juice, fruit, milk (make sure it's cow and not camel or goat), water, and eggs...any way you can imagine, eggs...oh yes and bacon.

BEEF bacon.

I'll end it right here...NO.

Never Again.

You can't make bacon out of beef. That's crazy, Steve!

Uh, yeah, that's what we kept saying...but it was the same "cut of meat" but from cattle...I actually looked it up once...it's below the brisket, beef belly.

Just...no.

That is just sad. I love beef, but it has no place in the BACON realm. Insult to piggies everywhere!

Lamb bacon and goat bacon also exist. I just don’t want to eat it.

Ooooh yessssss

I just cooked a batch of bacon for breakfast-for-supper tonight, and wine was just not the right thing to drink during tonight’s food prep. That would be nice to nurse after dinner. Over ice with orange peel?

Feeling house-bound? Mind turning to mush? Wanna push the envelope on that? How about a SAF Virtual Watch Party for the debut of the original Hallmark movie this Saturday night:
“You’re Bacon Me Crazy”

Do not ask me why I know this. I will say it was a mixture of karma and channel-surfing.

I had crumbled bacon in my egg for breakfast and crumbled bacon in my salad for dinner (bleu cheese too).
Because AMERICA.

Last night my boys were bored. They used small amounts of tubbed biscuit, wrapped around a chunk of mozzarella, then wrapped with a slice of bacon, and fried in the fryer.

They weren't very good. But they were sure proud! Needed seasoning. Or a good sauce.
