Important matters concerning the existence of Humanity - BACON

Wendy's started serving breakfast back in 1985 (at least at some locations). In March of 2020 they added the "Breakfast BACONator" to the menu. Basically a hamburger bun with bacon, sausage, fried egg, cheese, and more BACON! I've started seeing ads for it recently. Perhaps they advertised in the past but I've just noticed them (maybe because I no longer have a DVR so I don't skip commercials). Our refrigerator is out of commission this week and of course it happened while the wife was vacationing with her sister, so it's just me and the dog. Not much to eat in the house and I don't feel like cooking (without a fridge for leftovers) anyway. So one morning I ran to Wendy's to try this mythical Breakfast Baconator. Best darn fast food breakfast sandwich I've ever eaten. I've been back two more times.

Disclaimer: I am not employed by Wendy's, have no relationship with Wendy's, and certainly do not own any Wendy's stock. I did have a high regard for Dave Thomas for his military service. Somebody has to feed the troops.

Thanks for the review. I have been seeing the commercials and wondering if they were any good. The commercial certainly makes them look really good. On a side note, not bacon-related, I heard once that Dave Thomas did not learn to read until he was 40. I'm not sure how true that is, but he definitely has one amazing, rags to riches story. Hard work will get you VERY far, with a little good fortune.

The obvious question is "did the dog get any samples of this?"

Not sure I buy that story. He had to be able to read recipes and the labels on food to grab the right stuff (flour vs self-rising flour, etc). :)

Actually, I always tear off a piece of meat for the dog and set it aside for her before I start eating. She doesn't get it until I'm done eating. If there is nothing I can give her from my plate, then I give her a little Milk-Bone Mini when I'm done eating. She is not allowed to beg while I'm eating. My training method for this seems to work well. Our previous dog was well known for butting people in the shin with her snout while they were eating. Our current Scottie (Simpson) lays patiently on the floor until I'm done eating.

I will confess to being selfish and only tearing off a small piece of the sausage, saving all the BACON for myself. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. :)

I used to do this with my dog as well. Her favorite was the $1.00 ice cream cone from McDonald's. She used to get a whole one every week in the Summer.
