Important matters concerning the existence of Humanity - BACON

Just tell us you’ve seasoned the skillet with bacon grease, and you’ll have observed the spirit and the letter of the law.
Did I leave that essential ingredient out of my post? I apologize. But of course! My trusty mason jar of bacon grease did the trick.

My new favorite side dish. Why haven’t I cooked this before? Diced bacon, small amount of chopped onion and a quarter of a head of chopped cabbage.
Skirt steak and baked beans to accompany this new winning side dish. And so easy!!!!25343F66-B364-449C-A5F0-6D47E60540A4.jpeg

I would make a small modification to this recipe---leave out the cabbage. Perfect side dish and one less step so even easier.

My favorite, hands down.

Had you been in the Wright with regard to “everyday bacon” before you read about it here? I can’t recall if you were part of the Wright Brotherhood already. I buy the 3 lb packs at the Commissary, split it into 1/2 lb parcels to wrap and freeze. We had sour cream pancakes with orange zest and one of those parcels last night, always a treat to have breakfast for dinner.

Nope. Had no idea what Wright bacon was, before I started this thread.
I have all you SABF members to thank.

Grilled cabbage and bacon. Just Google it. It’s all out there. Skillet cabbage and bacon is an old-fashioned Irish dish, with local variation. I’ve had grilled romaine salad before. Not sure what grilling does to cabbage - caramelize and sweeten or bring out the bitter?

As long as you triple the bacon, you should be fine.
