Important matters concerning the existence of Humanity - BACON

@THParent My bride grew up on a hog farm. One of her brothers is a hog farmer. We have a dish in the kitchen where we store our heads of garlic. This is it .

I have to add, when the wind blew from the hog houses, my DFIL would say, "Smells like money to me!"

DH and I are both sporting “food babies” tonight after a 39th anniversary dinner at an extraordinarily special place for a multi-course dinner. One of the courses was truly spectacular - a delicate garlic warm custard dotted with tiny bits of sun chokes, wild mushrooms and bacon bits from a local supplier, served in an empty egg shell with its top surgically sliced off by a laser (I asked).

If you ever have the time, the funds (worth every penny and more) and a love of beautiful food that also tastes delicious, this place is worth it as a “lifetime occasion.” Skim through the photo gallery.

Happy Anniversary, and congrats 🍾 🥂!!

Now we need a new thread…The Secret To Marriage Longevity ♥️ I bet it includes Bacon 🥓 🤔

I made a batch of buttermilk mini-muffins with “apple pie spice” mix, bacon bits, pecans and orange zest. Of course, the recipe did not call for bacon bits. I doubled the orange zest because I like it. They turned out very well. Because they were warm, they had to be consumed immediately. DH helped me take on the challenge.

It's vital to immediately consume things like that. Otherwise would be a violation of the Federal Bacon Act.

DW made made pumpkin pancakes (needed to sneak a veggie in somewhere), scrambled eggs and BACON for dinner last night. As I was cleaning up I noticed we had bacon leftover and realized it was the first time since DS went off to PS that we had made bacon. I know I be chastised for "leftover bacon" and the long drought of bacon consummation, but it did remind me that we are slowly moving from a household of 4 to eventually 2 and there will be lots of leftover bacon.

“Lots of leftover bacon.” Now, if this is done intentionally so as to support BLTs for lunch and bacon sprinkled on salads at dinner, for example, there is some righteousness to the act.
