I'm going to be a junior after this summer, and after looking at the profiles of people who have received appointments I am beginning to wonder whether shooting for West Point is realistic. It has always been my dream to get admitted, although I am a military child and attend DODEA schools (which don't have as many opportunities as regular high schools) .I discovered this site and found it to be a great wealth of information, so I hope that any of you guys can take the time to give advice regarding on anything else I could do to to strengthen my application.
Freshman and Sophomore Year:
-4.0 GPA
-NHS Member
-6 varsity letters total from tennis, basketball and softball
-Tennis Captain in 10th gr.
-1st chair in band and both years (accepted into Honors Festival 10th gr.)
-Student Council Officer 9th and 10th
-JROTC Superior Cadet
Junior Year Classes:
-AP US History
-AP Lang
-AP Chemistry
-JROTC III

-MUN
*Should I drop band and MUN for more AP classes?
I am at the top of my class and will be a company commander this year. I also plan on continuing all my sports, run for student council, apply to girls state and join the drill team. What else can I do to become more competitive?
