My two cents...my youngest DS flew through AIM with all intentions on applying and getting into the CGA...he loved Aim and really thought he did well...it was even before Aim that he was committed to becoming a CG cadet...sadly, the week before Christmas he was sent an email denying his admission. The quotas killed him. Unbelievable academic grades in high school. Sports, extracurriculars and plenty of community service. He jumped into EA with both feet and with eyes wide open, it just didn't work out. Last years class was the smallest in years and he paid a price...he never looked back and is excelling at another academy. Point being, he never spoke about leaving; all the talk was about getting in. He took the disappointment like the mature young man he is , mom and dad were proud he stuck his neck out...go 100% or don't go at all! There are just too many good candidates that would give a toe for that appointment...just my two cents.
