Maybe I’m overthinking this (or not?)…. The requirement is for all white. I get that.

Q: Have previous Plebe Candidates had any issues if the waistband is colored or has writing on it?

I want to invest in these because I know how important compression boxer briefs could be w/ all of the running but it’s hard to find quality versions that don’t have something written on the waistband….

Just a suspucion on my part, nothing to back it up, but I would avoid anything with a solide color waistband. All the clothing of mids is to be stenciled, and in very specific locations, and I remember reading a few years ago that it was the waistband on underwear. With regard to stenciling, don’t jump the gun and start using a magic marker. There is a stencil kit that is to be used.
 
Thanks for the feedback! I agree a solid color waistband would be a bad idea …. Here are the ones I found - a thin strip of color at the top. I think there are also options with more of a gray watermark on the waistband but that seemed kind of busy. Maybe that would be better? The plain white ones had bad reviews for being cheap or were 💯 cotton…. I was looking at that same set on Amazon. When we stenciled in boot camp, it was just below the waist band, because the waistband streches so much.

DS was on a call & the USMMA Midshipman was like, don’t even worry about bringing white underwear 🤯. I’m too much off a rule follower to even consider that for a second 😳. But… trying to find 💯 white w/o a spec of color on them is almost impossible unless you get ones w/ bad reviews/all cotton/$20 per pair…. We are going w/ these. Our oldest has been in dress whites since 2021 - DH & I were just chatting that we don’t ever remember seeing a white pair of underwear in our house….ever …. I have no idea what he’s wearing 😂 (definitely not asking!). But….his laundry gets added to ours whenever he’s home by virtue of apparently no one knows what a hamper is in our house (I choose my battles). And, when he does pack for his summer cruises he somehow needs 7 different rooms, with clothes & gear basically everywhere….I don’t ever remember seeing white underwear. So to quote him - we are just going to “send it” 😊 and buy these….

It's not a big deal. We all stressed and it did not matter. Predominantly white is fine. Don't stress and run all over the place trying to find solid white.

Thank you for a voice of reason! I’m generally a “don’t sweat it” type of person but I’m finding myself overthinking some of these things / probably making it harder than it should be. These have been ordered!
