I'm currently a Private (passed my test for PFC!!!) in my infantry explorers post.

I was wondering if there were alot of these programs around the nation? I know there are 3 or 4 around southern california.

Would anyone happen to know if it is more renown than the JROTC programs in the application process and selection?

My commander, LTC Coerper (Ret.) is very active in the West Point Community and in the city council of Huntington Beach. He is a USMA grad and his son is a grad also. (currently a MAJ)

A few of the cadets are in their schools and they say all they do is lessons, DandC and sometimes PT. Which I feel, is not enough.

If any of the readers on this thread are interested about the Infantry Explorers Post program and what we do I can refer you to our website:

Eager to hear all of your responses! : )

Interesting. That's the first I've heard of Infantry Explorers.

I know of Law Enforcement Explorer (Law Enforcement FTW!).

There are hundreds of those. I do not, however, know about any other infantry Explorers.

I also just noticed that you guys are in SoCal.

Yeah. its a pretty beneficial experience for the cadets.
we learn everything about the MOS 11B (army infantry)

landnavigation. D and C's. squad, platoon movements. army customs and courtesies/ values, warrior ethos etc. first aid. the 8 battle drills. and soo much more

we have our second FTX in 3 months this june and live fire also. its a fricken awesome program.

While I can't speak to the Infantry Explorers, I'd have that the Law Enforcement Explorer program is equally awesome. We learn LE tactics and we get the unique opportunity to experience real law enforcement first hand.

It doesn't get much better. At first I thought I wanted to be a cop, then I joined the Explorer program and now I know I want to be a cop. Whether in the military world or the civilian world. It's all I could ever imagine myself doing.

ahahaha thats good. Did you guys ever do MOUT training? basically infiltrating houses and buildings. I know a police academy around here has a GREAT program on it

We do practice infiltration of buildings and what not. How to search and clear buildings. Extractions, etc etc.

We also have really good active shooter training.
