We had a friend voluntarily out process. Well, a few friends of DS. Go through 2nd semester and summer training. You will have that accomplishment. It is possible. One of the cadets we know was able to get everything ready, complete summer training and then do the outprocesssing paperwork. It does take longer than you expect. Sometimes a lot longer.
One of the cadets had to get his senator involved.
One of our friends started outprocessing a couple weeks into the school year and did not leave until mid-November! That is all of September and all of October, plus some of November.
It is really boring to be in the separations barracks. It can be very isolating. Be prepared for that. That will depend on your circumstances.
There is a separations facebook page. My friend gained a lot of good advice as a mother on that page. However, I do not know how to get there, but with some searching, it could be found.
Get in contact with the university to which you are headed. They will need to know that USMA does its work on its own time.
