Initial thoughts on the first Army ROTC Scholarship board results

Well then I guess he might know how a board of PMS's would view it.
 
DS just completed his ROTC interview. He expected to be interviewed by the PMS but instead was interviewed by A-PMS/ XO and the HR OIC (retired WP grad). Both interviewers were entirely professional. Hard to believe the Army would have such a bias against non-PMS interviews and allow them. I’d expect an otherwise outstanding candidate would not be at any risk.

Yes, if they are interviewing at their #1 choice school. The system is designed to interview at the closest school to help reduce this bias.
 
I’ve seen good and bad write ups by PMSs, and I’ve seen good and bad write ups by ROOs. Not sure I would generalize one way or another. I’ve seen self serving PMSs and I’ve seen very fair write ups by ROOs. There is so much randomness and variability to this process that I wouldn’t stress over who did your interview. Be prepared and do your best. There’s nothing more you can do.
