Injuries while on scholarship

Hi, I am a first year AROTC student on a 4 year scholarship. My sophomore year of high school I tore my ACL. I rehabbed and was back to full strength and cleared by DODMERB. I'm not sure if I have definitely retore it or not. I had it diagnosed as an MCL tear in March and asked if I needed to report it, and they said if it takes less than 3p days to recover then no. So I was cleared after 3 weeks (normal length) and did not need to report it. Lately I've been experiencing extreme looseness as a result of the more frequent running (something I didn't do as much before ROTC) and am starting to think it may be my ACL. What is the best way to go about this?

Talk to your cadre and go see an ortho immediately. Don't get ahead of yourself. Might be something minor that some rest and strengthening exercises will fix. Good luck.

Your health is always paramount. One day, when you are a JO, one of your troops will come to you with a health issue, and your priorities will be his/her health, the physical readiness of your unit, and being part of the chain of command who's created a communications atmosphere where juniors know they can bring problems to their leadership.

Hoops has good advice above - see Ortho, take this a step at a time. Injuries happen, so you get them diagnosed, treated and documented. You do your best in all other areas to shine while healing, with a positive and confident demeanor.

My DD was injured with a back injury her entire freshman year for afrotc(while on scholarship). She was then cleared again and is doing great as a sophomore.
