Hey y’all! I’ve not been accepted to USAFA yet, but if I’m blessed enough to receive an appointment, the four jobs listed in the thread title are what I am interested in commissioning. For pilot, AC-130 is what I would like to fly if anyone has any experiences on UPT or where you got stationed after that. I know CSO’s go to Pensacola for school after graduation, just not sure about intel and air battle managers. Intel is my top choice and air battle manager is my second. Any info would be much appreciated!

CSOs do go to Pensacola after graduation for training. I know of a couple people who have gone through that program because I was in Pensacola for the first part of Navy flight school. The CSOs have their own command, unit, and squadron down there. They also fly in the backseat of USAF T-6As for a couple flights then track/drop their airframe and train in the T-1 to finish up and wing. Then they move onto training for their particular airframe

USAF UPT training can be at one of several bases

Unsure about ABM. I want to say their intel training is out of Goodfellow AFB in Texas initially… some of my college friends went that route.

Thank you for the information! I’ll keep my options open and keep trying to do research! Did you graduate from USAFA?

I remember my CSO friends there are several versions of the C-130 airframe that they can go on and there are different roles for them. SAR, Electronic warfare, navigator, maybe some others

I believe ABM initial training (6 months) is at Tyndall AFB, and then technical training (12 months) is at the individual airframe base. (AWACS at Tinker AFB and JSTARS at Robins AFB.)

Is there any certain bases ABMs go to or do you stay where those planes are?
