Hello guys. I'm nominating from Mongolia. I just wanted to know what you guys thinking about chance to get USMA west point. Here's result
TOEFL IBT 88
SAT CR 480 Math 710 WR 420
GPA 3.8
Few extracurricular activities.

didn't take it but for now I'm doing 12 pull up, 35 push-us, 70 inch basketball throw. 70 sit ups. never tried shuttle
Please chance me.

Are you applying as an exchange candidate? Are you a US citizen? Am not sure what the requirements are if you are applying as an exchange candidate...I believe your country selects you. If you were being compared to US applicants, your SATs are way too low to be competitive.

mom3boys: thanks for reply. I'm not exchange candidate. What I'm applying is called international candidate program.
Referring to the College board, average Toefl IBT score was 88. Not sure if it's true. If it's really 88 I hope international candidates' average CR score doesn't exceed 500. Just my thought. What you guys think?

You could try contacting West Point Admissions directly if you have specific questions:wink: Im not sure many of us are familiar with admissions questions from international candidates

Good luck!

Here is a powerpoint file discussing the International Cadet Program.

It states that West Point is looking for SAT 504 Verbal and 625 Math (It seems to me that these must be averages) and an 87 on the TOEFL.

Each country can nominate 6 candidates, but no more than 3 candidates from any country can be in attendance at any given time.

Approximately 120 international candidates are nominated in any given year. Of these, 15 will be selected to attend West Point.

(All of this information was found in the powerpoint, but you may want to verify with admissions.)

Best of luck!

I would work on your push-ups if I were you. Your pull-ups, basketball throw (assuming you mean feet, not inches  ), and sit-ups look pretty good.

Also, remember that when you take all of the events one after another, you will get tired and your scores in the sit-ups, push-ups, and mile will not be as good.
