I got Deferred to regualr admission and am updating my app. I want to come up to the Academy to meet the crew coaches and stuff. While I am there, does anyone know if there is a way that I could have an interview with an admission person while I am there? Not sure if they are only in home area or not.

wow, that is an awesome thing to do (visiting to show your continued interest). Anyway, call your admissions officer and see if you can interview or at least meet with him or her.

Avery that's cool that you are close enough that you can do that.....
We are in the Big Washington, so to far and to expensive for all those one day programs that they had after AIM also ....
you should check on the CGA site and send an email to your AO..

thanks for the suggestions everyone.
J Collins- my uncle lives in Oregon. i will be out there for a few weeks if i dont make it. i was there a few yrs back and loved ur state.

Does anyone know the names of the Academy Admissions Partners

in my state of South Carolina?

TJ

I dont even know the Add. Partners for my state. lol check with ur Addmissions officer.

PM me and I will give you the contacts for your respective states.

hey averx615 I just toured the Academy in December and did the tour and met with a few teachers and the Water Polo coach as well as doing the academy tour. I too wanted an interview and after my tour I talked with my admissions officer Lt. Sporer as I had a few questions still. After which I asked about the interview process as I am from Wyoming and we do not even have a recruiting office in the state to my knowledge. Anyway I ended up doing the interview right then and there in the office that day so just be prepared if they want to interview you on the spot.

TJ,

There are 5 AAP's in South Carolina. Arrange the local interview through your Admissions Officer:

LTJG Aaron Parker
Aaron.T.Parker@uscga.edu
860 701-6321 (office)

He is ours too.. (Washington State)..
He must be on leave, as I have sent him a couple of emails since the 16th and have not gotten a response.
Figured we'd jsut wait until after the holiday to send him another note.

Aaron Parker is a good guy. All of those Admissions Officers a "good people." :thumb:

The entire federal government is on leave right now. I'm not sure if they have Treos there. Many are going to be back in the office on Monday though (at least from the "Out of Office" messages I've seen), don't know if Aaron will be though.

We had the pleasure of meeting him in Seattle while he was here.. indeed he was a "good guy"... It was nice to meet him and put a face and voice along with the emails. :)

Aaron, Dan, and Caroline all nice. I would check back on Monday to see if people are back from leave (assuming they were on leave).

IMHO, a phone call (from the candidate, NOT the parent) is preferable to an email.

Do you know how late he is in the office b/c it is hard to call when I am at school almost all day.

ahh that makes sense lol. What would we all do with out all the help we get? ha
