Thank you! Do you know if you're selected or not selected if that is considered good or not? I never got any information so I'm somewhat concernedInterviews have started. Not everyone is necessarily selected for an interview. However, if you want to be interviewed, you can contact your AO and request to be added to the list if you aren't on it already. Also, the Academy Admissions Partners are the ones who interview applicants, so if you are from a state with a low number of AAPs, it may take longer for one to contact you.
Admissions has said that sometimes they select people because they want to have a chance to see more of them through the interview. They have also said they take an overall sampling of applicants. And I've also heard them say they try to interview as many as possible. But all of that is just what I've heard from Admissions Officers, so it is all second-hand knowledge. If you believe you would interview well and that it would help your application, then I think they would encourage you to reach out to your AO and specifically request to be added to the interview list. The point of the interviews is for USCGA to see you as an applicant beyond the stats and numbers, for you to give any other information you would like to share that you couldn't in your application, and for you to ask questions if you have any.Thank you! I did an AIM interview and was asked to do another one right before Thanksgiving break last year. (Actually, I was asked to do an interview that day or the next. My guess is that I was on the cusp of being accepted or denied.)Thank you! Do you know if you're selected or not selected if that is considered good or not? I never got any information so I'm somewhat concerned
Edit: I just spoke to a AIM friend who talked to an admissions officer, and it was said that if you attended AIM, that was basically your interview, and that you don't need one. I think that is why?
Thank you! it said my application was complete and ready for the board review, so I assume I won't need one!I did an AIM interview and was asked to do another one right before Thanksgiving break last year. I wouldn’t worry about it. A lot of my classmates weren’t asked to do an interview and didn’t attend AIM, while I did both. There’s so many variables that one thing doesn’t make or break you. Good luck!!
Of course! Mine also said that, so you never know! Haha, the application process works in mysterious ways.Thank you! it said my application was complete and ready for the board review, so I assume I won't need one!
How did you know your application was ready for board review? Does the status change? Mine says submitted, My AIM also says submitted and never changed even when accepted. I was just contacted for an interview and scheduled it for Friday evening.Thank you! it said my application was complete and ready for the board review, so I assume I won't need one!
go to the Bears Den home page and it'll show it on the sidebarHow did you know your application was ready for board review? Does the status change? My USMMA application status recently changed to under review.
