Hello everyone,
My name is Connor Koehler and I will be a sophomore in high school. I play baseball and soccer for the school, and maintain pretty good grades. I am and have been very interested in the USAFA and any advice on how to prepare and better my chances on getting into the academy would be great. I also have just recently joined Civil Air Patrol and that does interfere with my sports for the high school, so if I did have to choose between the two, which one would look better on the USAFA application? Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Welcome. The first great thing you did, was come to this forum. You will learn so much here.

My first suggestion. Click on the link below in my signature block. It is the Air Force 2011-2012 Brochure. It is the PDF version of the same book we pass out to interested applicants. In it, you will find the typical profile of the academy. It will tell you what the academy recommends you take for classes in high school as a minimum. It will show you what activities the cadets were in while they were in high school. Shows you average ACT, SAT, GPA, etc... from high school. How the nomination process works; and so much more.

Read through the brochure. Understand it. Then, come over to the air force section of the forum and ask any specific questions that the brochure doesn't answer or you couldn't find already on the forum. Best of luck to you and welcome again. Mike.....

DS is applying to USMA at West Point and Army ROTC schools. Site is quite informative, and thanks for any feedback as he finalizes his choices.
