I am currently about to begin my sophomore year at Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union Virginia with hopes to become a Midshipman in the near future. I have wanted to attend the United States Naval Academy for as long as I can remember. I have shaped my whole life around this obsession. I finished my first year of High School at a Catholic school in Los Angeles and I felt as if I could have been much more productive towards my goal elsewhere. So after about 3 months of persuasion, my parents finally agreed to look into military schools. I visited a few, and Fork Union seemed to be the best fit. Besides, they also had a full ride opportunity given to one deserving young man every year. So I applied for the scholarship and I was notified that I was a top three finalist. So they sent the three finalists out there. We were interviewed heavily then sent back home. After a nerve racking two weeks, I got a call. I was notified I had won the full scholarship. Since then I've been counting down the days till my departure. Aside from that, I've been able to maintain a 4.1 GPA, and have founded two non-profit organizations. One is a tornado relief foundation (theozzproject.org) and the other is an organization dedicated to getting America's youth more involved in our politics (americanyouthrestoration.org). I played volleyball and ran track. During the summer, I swim and box. While at my new school I plan on being a part of the swim, cross country, and the rifle team. I'm looking forward to learning more on this forum! Go Navy!:thumb:
