I read several posts but can't find the right answer. My DD is in the application process for class 2027, she has Invisalign and will complete treatment 11/2023. If accepted to class 2027 will she have to discontinue the treatment? the orthodontist said they may be able to work on it so she has only the retainers by I-day but is not 100%.

Her options are:

#1 Finishing the treatment early and keep only the retainers. Will retainers be allowed?
#2 If she is able to keep them, they told her they will scan her in June and again until November so she can take all her aligners with her. Will she be allowed to use? After this she will only have her retainers

Here is an old thread:

Mr. Mullen (DoDMERB Deputy Director) will likely respond to your post too.

DD APPLICANT: If you’d like, you may send me an email: lawrence.e.mullen.civ@mail.mil; provide complete name and last 4 SSN; provide the text of your Parent's posting above to YOUR email. The subject line of the email should be “STEM 26- SAF =Invisalign and Service Academies.“ Do NOT embed links in your email as I will not be able to view those. :wiggle:

She will get a form with her physical stuff when she fills it out online that has to be filled in by the orthodontist with all that required information.

I just gave your DD the response with greater precision as it applies to the specifics of her case :wiggle:

Our honor and privilege to serve :wiggle:
