Hi all,

I’m going to buy an iPad Pro for taking notes and other individual work before Basic so that it’s ready for me on A-day. For cadets who have used an IPad, did you have the normal size (10 inch screen) or the extra large size (12.9 inch screen)?

Also, look at the iPad Air instead of the Pro if you are getting the smaller size. My ds didn't think the Pro was worth the extra $$.

Not a cadet, but a lot of my friends used iPads in college. They mostly all had ones that were similar in size to a piece of paper or regular spiral notebook, maybe slightly smaller (probably the 10 inch iirc?)

I agree! Unless you are using it to do a lot of video editing, are an app developer or an artist you really don't need the Pro or a lot of memory. The Air is more than sufficient. I just bought the Air for DD with 256GB

Get an iPad Air. You are running with it in your left hand (and likely your laptop too). It can get heavy quick. The air has proven more than capable for school here.

The iPad Pro 11” is only 5 grams heavier than the iPad Air.

iPad Air with the Logitech keyboard (w/ trackpad) and Apple Pencil. Both my DDs have that setup and greatly appreciate it.

Mine has the 10" Air with Apple Pencil and it's been perfect. Her high school was Apple and the pencil just made things a little faster. (She's not a keyboard kid.) It's all personal preference, so if you don't have a note-taking routine now spend some time to figure things out. It's smart to take care of some of this now rather than during the tumult of a new school year.

Got the 12 because it was cheaper and it is pretty nice… I think the smaller would be slightly better though.
