iPod Playlists...

Oh gosh Boss - I am soooo embarrassed - my bad!! Yep Carole King - "I Feel the Earth Move" was the flip side of "It's Too late", #1 on the billboard for something like 10 weeks.. Do the youngun's even know what a flip side is??

JM - Carole King -great voice but probably better known as a song writer than singer.

BR - Queen seems to be very popular with your generation - my youngest is the greatest Freddie Mercury fan - even though he died before she was born -

Did anyone mention "Stairway to Heaven"? Only the greatest rock and roll song ever!

Best parody: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTCYLbFxTpI

Got to love Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon

Still have alot of vinyl, just no way to play it anymore but can't part with it either.

Okay, I had to go and check my ipod against some of the stuff listed here. I'm good.

Eclectic, multiple personalities, I think I'm there.

I don't think we have one piece of vinyl left. It wouldn't last in my house, anyway.

Nurseypoo - you are too funny, girl:biggrin:

I still like Grand Master Flash but I haven't been able to buy "Double Dutch Bus" anywhere.

My younger son (who Eagles on Sunday, btw) did a required Phys Ed project to "Kung Fu Fighting."

Chip- I happen to like Barbie Girl. S'alright!

Sealion- OMGosh! Double Dutch Bus! I almost forgot that one! I, myself, have Kung Fu Fighting.

Super congrats to your son! Once and Eagle, always an Eagle! I am so happy for you all! What an accomplishment!:jump1: :w00t:

You guys need to stop. I keep seeing songs I've missed adding to my iPod.

No good music in the 80's?????????????

Jeez, what in the crap are all you guys talking about? To paraphrase Harold (Kevin Kline) in that great classic "film", The Big Chill, there hasn't been any music since the 70s.

OBTW, Big Chill trivia. Alex, who committed suicide and is only seen as the slit wrists of the body at the funeral, was played by Kevin Costner. Talk about humble beginnings.

What goes around comes around though - my girls are really into Janis Joplin - freaked me out the see them listening to her!

And??? So???? Your point??? Toss up between her and Grace Slick as the greatest female singer of all times. For all you kids, Grace Slick did White Rabbit and Somebody to Love.

The greatest band of all times, The Flying Burrito Brothers when Gram Parsons, then recently of The Byrds, first formed it.

Would this be a bad time to mention that I have "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies on my list?

It's a favorite of my girls from when we watched "From The Earth To The Moon". :yllol:

Callin' out around the world
Are you ready for a brand new beat?
Summer's here and the time is right
For dancin' in the streets
They're dancin' in Chicago
Down in New Orleans
Up in New York City

No matter how many re-makes. (Love Martha & the Vandells) The BEST song ever. :shake:
I still dance around to Sugar Sugar. LOL Son says I'm two colors short in the crayon box.

Ah...."Sugar Sugar", I haven't heard that one for a long time. How can you not sing along to it?

More oldies to add to your ipod/mp3 list:
"Takin Care of Business", Bachman-Turner Overdrive
"Cat's in the Cradle", Harry Chapin
"Free Fallin", Tom Petty
"I Thank You", ZZ Top

Happy listening!

TCB is one of the best all-time...right up there with "Celebrate Good Times," "Working for the Weekend," and "The Heart of Rock and Roll"(Huey Lewis)...all great dance tunes.

Forgot to mention Harry Chapin earlier...another favorite..."Taxi" is one of the best songs ever.

"Radar Love" by Golden Earring!

IMPOSSIBLE not to drive fast to!
