Zap - you are dating yourself. Most of those tunes are older than the average member, but classics indeed!

At home we get to listen to some really lovely tunes like - "Shake your moneymaker" -

Never said I was young!

Yeesh.

Some more good stuff:

Everywhere - Fleetwood Mac
Shake Your Foundations - AC/DC

I was starting to get worried for Zap with what he had on his i-pod, Pure Prairie League?? But he redemed himself a little with the B-52's and Aerosmith, but then it went back down hill with Kool & the Gang and Toto.

JAM, I think some of those songs are even older than Zap. :shake:

Now if you want to get those ear drums vibrating (bleeding according to the wife) pop in some Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Iron Maiden.. For the rockabilly folks try some Reverend Horton Heat... And to wind down an evening do some Souixie and the Banshees and Concrete Blonde...

Fear not. Scrolling through my iPod will make you think I have multiple-personality disorder.

I've got stuff from Barry Manilow to Dope; Neil Sedaka to Eminem. Sheesh, I even have Barbara Streisand.

Music knows no bounds. If it rocks or soothes, I got it! :thumb:

You're not kidding! White Room by Cream just came on. :shake:

Weeeeeee! Look at me! I'm playing long-haired hippy liberal! Grooooovy! :yllol:

ETA: Hey, Doc! Does Big City Nights by the Scorpions redeem me at all? :thumb:

Different strokes....

While we all have different tastes in music and I'm sure there are a few songs I love that would drive others crazy, I'd much rather hear fingernails across a chalkboard than to listen to I'd Really Love To See You Tonight by Dan & Coley.

The single song that literally drives me crazy is Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight. To make matters worse, my wife loves this song so we fight for the radio tuner every time the song comes on when driving. I'm half tempted to jump from the car if I lose the radio "battle."

Anyone else? What songs drive you crazy?

I have fingernails on a blackboard on MP3 if you want it! :yllol:

99.99999999999% of Regge. Most of Gangsta Rap, too.

Don't ask me why Eminem gets by that filter, because I have no earthly idea.

Theres a channel on XM Radio that is just elevator music. My wife loves to listen to that, and I can take about 5 minutes before I'm ready to pull over and have a seizure. Whats worse, is when you hear a hit from the 80's or 90's (were there really hits in the 80's?) that has turned into elevator music! The horror!!

Anything Jon Bon Jovi - but ESPECIALLY - Living on a Prayer - One of those songs one finds singing to in the car - UGH!

Zap you have redeemed yourself with Cream. What goes around comes around though - my girls are really into Janis Joplin - freaked me out the see them listening to her!

Well, it beats Britney Spears.

Yup. Its a music day. Pandora.com

Lets see.... So far I've heard The Wallflowers - One Headlight
Goo Goo Dolls - Give a Little Bit
Herbie Hancock - Stitched Up
Hole - ?who cares, I had to skip that one
Changed my station to jazz & now its John Coltrane - They Say its Wonderful

If someone beat on a tin can, I'd listen to it. All but that Barbara Streisand thing. Can't go there. Z, you can't be a hippy until you've blown out your speakers on Magic Carpet Ride or Low Rider. Clapton only gets you 1/2 way there.

JAM, I know how you feel. Hubby likes to drive me nuts with his blues. I like Muddy Waters but not every frackin' time I turn on sound. But I'd rather hear that than the Bee Gees. :thumb:

Doc? Dead Kennedys? LOL I'm worried about you now.

Ha Britney Spears hasn't been heard in our house since her days on the Mickey Mouse Club....everyonce in a while they break out the Spice Girls for a good laugh - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

I do get treated to Justin Timberlake's - Sexy Back and the Black Eyed Peas' - My Humps Yep - good stuff -

JM I am worried about Doc too! I do agree there was no good music in the 80's. The '70's definitely did rock!
I would be dating myself to say that Aerosmith's Dream On came out when I was in the 9th grade - Good stuff though. :thumb:

No need to worry about me! I don't listen to it ALL the time.. :) I did get a chance 5 years ago to go see Dead Kennedys live (minus the lead singer from way back when, but the replacement was just as good), as I stood there in this tiny little dive, I came to the sad realization that I was the best dressed guy there (jeans, collared shirt - tucked in even) and probably the oldest (minus the guys in the band). What happened to my youth? One minute I was cool, the next I was telling some punk kid to calm down... Boy does life throw some weird twists at you....

I don't think the knob on my stereo (do they still make those any more?) has gone above 4 in about 10 years... I'm gonna have to go dig out my albums and cassettes and reminisce about the "good old days" when I get home.

No good music in the 80's?????????????

A flock of Seagulls, Haircut 100, Milli Vanilli, Wall of Voodoo, the Vapors, Kajagoogoo, Nena...

The list goes on and on...

Thomas Dolby, Joe Jackson, ABC, Phil Collins, Bob Seger, Billy Idol....

No ipod but I do have an MP3. Listening now to Metallica “Unforgiven” which is one of my very favorite songs. My list makes me look like a multiple personality, I have a little bit of the following: AC/DC, Metallica, Creed, Guns-n-Roses, Foreigner, Queen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bee Gees, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, John Mayer, Eagles, Weird Al Yankovic, and more! If you like Weird Al you HAVE to listen to “White and Nerdy”- I love that song.

My 14 year old son said his friends think it is “cool” that his Mom likes bands like AC/DC and Metallica.

I like many kinds of music but I can’t stand Britney Spears, rap music (with a few exceptions), and Barbara Streisand –sorry Z.

80's music...Pat Benatar, Aldo Nova, Billy Squier, and of course the hair bands: Night Ranger, Cinderella, Damn Yankees, etc.
