IRS employees opt out of Obamacare

Sigh...is right, but probably not in the way you intended.

A key provision of ACA is that the (IMHO asinine) employer based insurance coverage system will not be changed. H.R. 1780 (TEXT) attempts to turn that on its head for federal workers. So the union representing IRS employees says "Keep it the way it is." But the headline reads "Keep Us Out Of Exchanges". That's quite a difference.

Just show boating by Mr. Camp, Mr. Sam Johnson, Mr. Brady, Mr. Nunes, Mr. Boustany, Mr. Schock, and Mr. Roskam

OTOH if they propose to put EVERYONE into an exchange - now we're talking.

What will creep up on many here, in the private sector, is the penalties stacked on employers who already provide insurance. Those penalties, if they remain as originally enacted, will overwhelm employers, who will pay the fine v. provide the insurance with penalties. And that's when it will get nasty... but of course, no one associated with the law will be serving at that point...
