Is my summer schedule good enough?

In order to rack up some points on my resume/application to the NA, this summer (between my sophomore and junior year) I will be doing many volunteer activities. I am a volunteer at a local horse therapy camp for special ed kids, I am also going to be volunteering at our local VA Hospital once a week, as well as being a camp counselor for a sleep-away camp, and finally I will be going to my own personal STEM camp. Is this enough, and if not what more could I add?

First, don't do anything to "rack up points." Do things because you want to do them . Second, doing a small number of things, doing them well and having an impact is much more meaningful than doing a lot of things without full engagement. Community service is great ....but doing it just to "rack up points" is meaningless. Finally, if you are lucky, this could be your last summer to just have fun --save some time for yourself.

"Racking up points" wasn't necessarily the right wording, I chose those specific volunteer opportunities because I enjoy working with those types of people. Just needed to know if what I am doing is enough, or if I need to find more ways to reach out and what areas specifically would be the most beneficial but nonetheless, thank you for your input.

I've been involved with Service Academy admissions for a very long time and doing volunteering over the summer is not very big unless you're organizing/running things. I think that the most impressive summer things that I've seen candidates do was organizing their high school teammates to work out / practice over the summer including summer league and AAU play. For the non-team captains, it still shows leadership and might lead to team captaincy later. Of course things like Boy's/Girl's State or the various Service Academy Summer Seminars look good as well.

It might look really good to organize the volunteer work. For my Eagle Scout, I had to organize a service project. I chose to work with my high school CEO (charter school) and his engineers to add a weather station. I raised about $800, attended meetings with the CEO, science department, engineers, ect. And during the actual project, after the paper work was completed, I demonstrated leadership skills by running the project and communicating with the volunteers what needed to be done.

Something like this, though it might not give a lot of "points" will give you something to talk about in your interviews and academy essays!

Over the summer, I mainly focused on ACT prep and getting into shape for the CFA. Good Luck!
