I don't recall there being any requirement to report wisdom teeth extraction unless there are complications that would change his medical status. Also, once they are appointed, you don't report anything to DODMERB, you report it to the Navy Medical contact listed in their appointment information. If it got any closer than 30 days prior to Iday, I would not have them done, if you can get it done by early May at the latest, and dentist recommends they come out, then I personally think its a good idea. My oldest son had his done over their Feb break his senior year. My girls don't have wisdom teeth, so we didn't have to worry about them. Our current NAPSter was told about this time his senior year that we might want to have them removed, but he is a track recruit and he was not about to miss his senior track season having wisdom teeth removed. The dentist/oral surgeon told us it wasn't imminent and he could probably go another year or two. He's since had a check up at NAPS and they don't seem to see a reason to remove them yet. Looks like they'll come out at USNA.
