Is ROTC possible again?

Hello!

So I recently discovered that these forums existed and there was so much info and advice about DODMERB that I should've known. Intro aside; about two years ago I was medically DQ'd from AROTC. The entire time of the DODMERB process, I had no idea I was able appeal for a reconsideration and as well as the ability to submit documents and results from doctor's that could've possibly helped me out. So I accepted the DQ and disenrolled. Two years later I finally learn about this forum and the info it gave and the fire to be an officer in the military was reignited again. But before the flame gets too large, I would like to know would ROTC be possible anymore? After one previous DQ? Do the medical boards expire? Would it be even more difficult to get the DQ removed because I never tried to fight it/appeal it? Did waiting all this time negatively effect me or the opposite? Any advice/help would definitely be appreciated!

u need to go through exam process after 2 years from last exam if trying to get qualified….depending on DQ, some are time limited, some are automatic. you’d just have to try your luck, it would be like starting with a clean slate in the process i think. ROTC though…do you have enough years left to be in the full program?

If you’d like, you may send me an email: lawrence.e.mullen.civ@mail.mil; provide complete name and last 4 SSN; provide the text of your posting above to YOUR email. The subject line of the email should be “Sebbles- SAF =Is ROTC possible again.“ Do NOT embed links in your email as I will not be able to view those.:wiggle:

I have about 2 years left to get my degree, I took a semester off. I'm sure this is could be too short, but from what I know, all branch ROTC programs require at least 3 years. So if necessary, I could take up a minor or just spread out the last of my upper electives to met the minimum three year time limit.

Starting with Mr. Mullen is the right move.

You also might contact the ROO at your school's program and ask for guidance. If you were a stellar cadet before, I'm sure you will receive encouragement.
