Is there a companion "waiting, speculating, hoping" thread for the USAFA Class of 2029 appointments thread?

Yep. Just really hoping to not end up with three turn downs all in the same week this late in the game 🤞🏻. That seems just cruel, but I'm sure it happens more than we'd like to think.

You got this. If it happens, I definitely believe it will be for a reason. Hearing "no" sucks, but ultimately it helps guide you to the place you're meant to be. One of the gifts of getting older is seeing how hard things can lead to good things. Keep your head up high and be proud of all you have accomplished. Look for the good and expect it. But when and if doors close, allow yourself to be challenged to think of the many new and amazing possibilities that may never have presented themself if your original plan worked out. question regarding rotc scholarships - I searched the thread - not exhaustive but more of a peruse) but didn’t find an answer - my son has an rotc scholarship and a USAFA appointment (accepted). when is it “safe” to officially turn down the scholarship? I heard/read somewhere where it (the scholarship) is auto-revoked once the oath is taken on i-day (?). Is it wise to hold on to it just in case something happens to the appointment? thx in advance for any responses

Last year had a big appointment day on 3/20, this year didn't.
USAFA will make their decisions on 4/21, you could get rejected, waitlisted or appointed. Even if you get rejected or waitlisted there are still several people that will decline and open up spots for people that weren't given an appointment.
Take a look at last years updating appointment list.

I was relating 3/20 to this year's 3/12.
