Out of curiosity I went to a website, company called "ea5y 5hip." (the 5's just might be S's) - - I inputed shipping a 20 lb package from NY to Guam.
The website there gave quotes from Fedex International connect, Fedex International priority, those prices were from around 40 bucks to around 80 bucks.
There were other quotes through UPS worldwide, for around 200 bucks or so, and I know that DHL specializes in international shipping.
The site said, that these prices were only quotes, you have to create an account to get specific quotes, and that parcel dimensions and insurance could result in a different final price.
I have also learned that for Active Duty personnel, that the US Postal Service treats shipments to Guam as Domestic Mail, just like sending regular mail, packages.
All you would need is:
- A valid APO/FPO/DPO address (not just a Guam street address). This is the key here.
- Customs form (PS Form 2976-R) for international shipments.
- Military ID if accessing services or benefits tied to active duty status.
I also understand that there is a dislocation allowance (any experts, chime in here) that helps with these types of things.
Seems like
Dislocation Allowance (DLA)Covers some relocation costs during PCS (Permanent Change of Station) orders — may apply if they’re moving to or from Guam.
If they’re not using a military address, standard international rates apply. But if they are, USPS is hands-down the most affordable and reliable route.
For what it's worth, hope this helps.
