Is Uncorrected vision of 20/400 or more still a disqualifier for ROTC?

My son's in Army ROTC as a freshmen this year and has his paperwork in to DODMerb waiting for approval. His vision is correctible to 20/20 and the RX is -7.00 so he's under the -8.00 cutoff. With that correction though he's definitely above the 20/400 uncorrected cutoff. Will it be difficult for him to get a vision waiver for that?

Someone posted the 6/22 updated disqualifiers and 20/400 Uncorrected vision is not listed under vision. Dodmerb contact my sons eye exam provider and requested his Uncorrected vision which they forgot to check. He’s going to have to go back in again and have them do it. Why would they be asking for this if it’s not on the list anymore?
