It's March 28, 2016 and still CPR...

If you're still CPR right now are you chances looking good? In other words how many appointments are left comparative to how many are still CPR?

Wow! Just got off the phone with USNA Foundation program. Very, very helpful and great info. They have received 40 appointees so far, but not all have accepted. They are anticipating 15 more appointments until 5/15/16. So if you are CPR at this time you are still in the hunt!

Class2020Dad I PM'd you.

GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY!
YAY! some good news. Been CPR for many months. Thanks for the info.

NAPS also says through Facebook that they have had "some" appointments but are far from done with all their appointments. Would not give me any numbers though so I am going to try and call them tomorrow! GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY!

Thought I'd give an update, sorry it's not a positive one. Our son was picked up immediately by USMA (LOA) and NROTC (full 4-year scholarship given in October), but was left dangling until this week by USNA, when he was turned down. He is exceptionally qualified and luckily has several great options, but that USNA is not among them, is disturbing. He'll do well wherever he goes and we know he aims to serve our country in the military, regardless of branch, with distinction. Wishing others here good luck and hoping that the students selected for the class of 2020 serve with honor and make the Navy proud.

Sorry to hear 2020boy! Makes me wonder about USNA now more than ever if they are leaving the "Cream of the Crop" so to speak on the floor and going after diversity more and more! Maybe we need a new SA serving just the great kids who are turned down, that would make for a great service! Oh, well, we know that every candidate that has been denied is at the top of their class! These are going to be the kids to watch as they mature and become the leaders or our world! I would say good luck to him but he definitely will not need it! Have a great ride young man!

USNA makes approx. 1200 new appointees a year. I know there are much more than 1200 super awesome, over achieving , cream of the crop candidates. All who make it this far fit the bill. Its hard and agonizing but some shall be selected, some are not...at least that's the way it makes sense in my house.

My son has an appointment to USMA that he must accept or decline by April 15....same day USNA says they'll let him know. We called USNA and asked what to do in this situation. Admissions rep said that because accepting an appointment is not binding, he could accept, then later decline if an appointment comes through from USNA. That seems simply wrong, and I'm sure USNA wouldn't like it if candidates did that to them! Son is now deciding between USMA and an NROTC full scholarship at an exceptional civilian school. If USNA comes back with an appointment, he'll need to choose between that and whichever of the first two he puts on top. But this April 15 date is awful when it's the same as the decision day for another service academy. Anyone else in this situation? Any advice?

I went through this with my son. Do as recommended: Accept and decline if necessary. In the end, a slot will still be available assuming he declines in a timely fashion. Good luck!

I think I may be the only one on the naval academy forums that finally heard something back today. I received a foundation class of 2020 offer with a phone call this morning! I am very excited for the opportunity and I am happy to finally hear something back. I have to admit I was a little disappointed that I didn't get in this year because 2020 has such a nice ring to it, but I think by this time next year 2021 will sound better. I have heard nothing but good things in regards to prep before Naval Academy admission, especially from my father, who took 2 extra years before getting into the Academy, so I am very excited to receive this opportunity to develop even more before next year. I was a little surprised to see the foundation offer, so even if you don't think you're the candidate they're looking for, keep your hope up!

Good luck to anyone still waiting!

Congrats 3Tombro3, great job! You got what I've been told is the "Golden Ticket" to USNA! Get a chance to hone up your study skills even more and max out your CFA! Doesn't get any better, plus you get to go into the academy with a great edge! Piece of cake, you got this! We come aboard, sir! GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY!

3tombro3 Good Luck man, three cheers for getting off the island! Wish I knew what Admission's decision is on me, but sadly I'm still CPR (TN-02)."Hurry up and Wait" indeed. :p I'm hoping to snag one of the rumored unclaimed appointments still left, but would be totally onboard with doing NAPS or Foundation at this point, and seeing your post gave me some hope that there is still a chance to get something. Whatever the case may be I'm just glad I got the opportunity to experience applying to an SA and everything I've learned from it.

Congrats to you and good luck!

E-mail from one of the Admissions Counselors. "No final decision has been made for your son's application. We will have all admissions decisions emailed out by this Friday. Please let me know if you have any other questions! Have a great day."
Thank You for sharing. There's still hope! Good Luck!
