Again, congratulations!

Bummer....

Son's DoDMERB status has changed twice this month, but he hasn't received any mail yet.

Again, congratulations!

....I thought the status changes some have seen indicated good news. Maybe in some cases. Son's status has not budged. Still medically Qualified, but admission date is still Aug 2008.

5 days until March! That's the big month, right guys???? Let's hope so :thumb:

Have a GREAT day fellow wait-ers!

sooooooooooooooo anything??? anyone?????????????

it is SOOO quiet

nothing from anywhere - really thought my son might hear because of the change on admission line on dodmerb - but nothing has come this week. Knew this year would be tough, think its worse than I prepared myself for. My son's happily distracted now - he rows and crew season has started - he's soo happy to be on the water and off the ergs!!!

My son rows as well and is handling this whole waiting thing a lot better than I am, although he is getting progressively more antsy. There is something about intense physical exercise that keeps one from obsessing over stuff....they are just too tired. Now if I could just throw myself into some sort of intense exercise. Hmmm....nevermind that silly talk! I'd rather hang out here and worry with the rest of y'all! :shake:
Here's to waiting with like-minded worriers. March is gonna be a GREAT month, I just feel it.

I am a rower who is waiting to hear back from CGA too. I AM SOOO HAPPY RACE SEASON IS HERE!! haha it is way better than erging plus it makes time go faster. hope we all get good news!

where do ur kids row?

We don't have rowing over here...

but basketball season is in full swing with a district game tomorrow and track and field have now started... so DD is in full swing...

Larry rows for high school club - they row out of thompsons along rock creek park near kennedy center in DC- great views - they row on potomac during practices, regettas held at various sites a few on potomac river but most down on occaquan river just 30 minutes south of DC.

Are those that "row" great swimmers? And, is that what drew you to the CGA?

do any of ur kids come to Philadelphia and race in Stotes?

well personally, i am a great swimmer but that is b/c i was a competitive swimmer for 8 yrs b4 i started crew.

My son was never a competitive swimmer - really not ever needed with crew - tho team must pass a swim test because of the rivers. We our first 8's have rowed in stotsbury every year - my son first was on lightweight 8 but grew too much - so last year and again this he will be in heavyweight - coach has told him he is stroke this year. I know team expects to go to stots this may, our team goes to south carolina for spring break - its a terrific oppontunity to row 2-3xday and fun trip. Thank goodness break in in mid april this year - last year it was earlier - it was still a bit cold, but better than DC in march or april! My son has always had his eye on usna, last spring did get interested in uscga because of crew & sailing. He didn't get to go to aim so wasn;t able to get better feel.
