patentesq- That is why the Army ROTC is listed on his Dodmerb page, it just means that he is qualified for AROTC as well. The first change will show up on his status page ( In about 2 weeks ) with what looks like this..."You can check your Dodmerb status" If it changes to that he can begin to smile. Good luck to him.
 
Thank you so much for the useful information, Jcleppe. I remember from my day when I was waiting for word on my 3-yr AROTC scholarship (looooong before the Internet was even invented!), that the wait wasn't as stressful. Of course, I was a rook at Norwich at the time (which means that I didn't leave a lot of time to contemplate such things). But geez, the Internet sure has added a lot of stress to the process. Isn't technology supposed to make our lives easier?

But without the Internet, I suppose we wouldn't have www.serviceacademyforums.com!!

Glad the link came back up quickly to remove the wondering about if they were posting results. Not a lot going on today in Ohio - snow here, but its January so that's to be expected. Hope everyone has a good day and Cadet Command must be happy - no more new applications for this season:wink:

Have begun getting housing contracts and other information from the schools DS is already accepted at. My biggest concern is most of his schools are currently quarter based systems, switching to semester based during his 2nd year...its difficult to map courses to take and such when everything will change in a year! All Ohio state universities are changing, so if you have someone planning to attend here, this is in their future also. Some schools are already semester (Miami OH for one) but University of Cincy, OSU, OU are all making the change in 2 years. Anyway, out to shovel a little snow and try not to think too much:wink:
 
Hey guys. I dont know if it means anything but I just got an e-mail from an enrollment and scholarship advisor for Purdue Army ROTC. Is there anyway that the Army contacted Purdue regarding my status and thats why I got the e-mail?

Did you list Purdue as one of your Army ROTC college choices?
Did the email begin: "I am contacting you for the very reason that you have placed our great University as one of your top choices of schools to attend"?
 
I think there are two ways you might receive such an email: (1) Purdue is listed on your AROTC application as one of the 7 "wish list" schools; or (2) the Purdue college application itself had a checkbox, asking whether you are interested in ROTC. My DS received an email today from one of his colleges indicating that the AROTC board met last week and that a decision will be communicated three weeks from now.

I don't think this is an indicator of whether you received the scholarship -- it's more like the battalion reaching out to its prospective cadets and beginning to cultivate a relationship. Unfortunately, it appears that everyone will be in limbo for a few more weeks. But then this thread will come to life!

The ROTC PMS's can see SOME of your AROTC application info online in their system.
Notes, letters, emails from ROTC Battalions are not unusual.

I was informed today that if I am not selected by the board my #1 school will be giving me the internal 4 year scholarship. It is good to know the 17 years of work have paid off - for now. Ha. :shake::shake::smile::thumb:

Yep, I got one last night also.

I got a little giddy about it, seeing as we are 9 days from the last board, but I figured it was just nothing. Just a recruiting thing for their school.

Glad to hear Chip's good news. Would you like to post your school, major and stats it took to get the campus based scholarship this year? The rest of us will just have to keep waiting...:smile:, DS and I are trying to stay busy, but the weather here in Ohio isn't very cooperative (snow, snow and cold cold) but lots of cleaning, organizing and studying getting done:wink:

The website and phone number both route my so the scholarship processing office.

No, DS online status still reads the infamous "You have been selected for an Interview bla bla bla". What does yours now indicate? Haven't tried the phone number, may will do that just to see what the process is.

Hope you have received the long awaited GOOD news!!!:thumb:
 
The phone number puts us through to leave a message and someone will call back. Yesturday it said on the recording that he has been selected for an interview which was months ago. DODMERB shows qualified for AROTC. DS is taking finals today and is on pins and needles.
