Just wondering how competitive it is to get a scholarship to JMU? I was recently admitted and hope to go there. Also, is there anything I can do now that the 2nd board has passed and I'm not boarded/UC with a red border(not sure what the color indication may mean) or is it out of my control at this point?

Well Cadet Command dishes out scholarships based on your achievements, not the schools you chose. If you are passionate about going to JMU I would rank it 1 or 2 on your SOI list. There are a few things you can do, I'm in the same boat as you. You can one, improve your PT test score if you haven't maxed it out yet. Two, you can retest and add any new tests since they super score. The color indication around B/UC means nothing it is just red so you can easily see it. Other than that you can rest assured you tried your best for the March board.

PT is maxed except for the run at a 6:42 and in the cold weather, I'm not sure if I'd be able to dish that out. I can try to take it again, but from what I've heard once they set your packet then it no longer continues to be altered. I will try to continue improving though, ty for your response.

Yeah after your packet is boarded, the only thing that can be changed is your PT test, test scores, and SOI tab.

I even heard test scores were unchangeable after being boarded. Not sure how valid that is, but I've heard it from a couple of people.

It is 100% accurate. You can upload SAT or ACT scores at any time on the 'file upload' tab or have college board send them directly to Cadet Command.

Make sure you reach out to the ROO at JMU. They have a great program, son is a junior. He got a 3 yr on the third board. Good luck!

My son is looking to do ROTC at JMU also, we've heard great things about the program and loved the school when we went to visit.
