Does anyone have information on the AFJROTC nomination for USAFA or any other academies?

I was an Army JROTC cadet when I applied for USAFA last year. I approached the Colonel in charge of our JROTC program asking for a letter of recommendation. He said he wouldn't, but he could nominate me. He then did a brief interview with me and nominated me under an "Honor Military School" nomination. I am under the understanding that an officer can only nominate one JROTC cadet per academy. Good luck!

My son received JROTC noms last year for USNA and USAFA. His high school was AJROTC, but they are an Honor Unit with Distinction, so the senior instructor can nominate to any of the academies. If I remember correctly, the instructor found the necessary forms and instructions online. Here's the link for USNA: https://www.usna.edu/Admissions/_files/documents/ROTC-NOM-FORM-2016.pdf
Here's info about the process at USAFA

This might be true now, but my DS' NS instructor nominated more than one cadet to USNA in 2011.

Very important point there. My school was also an Honor Unit with Distinction.

I believe each JROTC unit can nominate up to 5 to their respective academy (i.e. AJROTC nominationing to West Point). If they're an honor unit with distinction, they can nominate up to 5 to all the service academies which require nominations.

So you only need to be a honor unit with distinction to get a recommendation to a service academy of another branch? Say I was in AFJROTC and I wanted to go to USAFA, do I have to be in a distinguished unit?

If you're in AFJROTC, your senior instructor can nominate you to USAFA, regardless of your unit's honor status.

Do you know how that works? My SASI talked to me about the JROTC Nomination but didn’t really know how to nominate a cadet. Could you please clarify the process of it? Does he access it on wings or something?

It's been a couple of years now, so I don't recall the details. But if you'll reference the link to USAFA admissions in my post above, your instructor should be able to figure it out.
