I've noticed that a lot of users on here are posting from 8 February with their responses. I am happy to see that the bulk of appointments have started to be sent out.

I also ran across a study that a shipmate posted from the Naval Postgraduate school that really identifies how the admissions board works. For you instruction junkies this is pretty cool information. I must warn though, it's a pretty long read.

Wow, looks like an excellent read. I just skimmed it and it looks like he goes pretty in-depth into everything. Thanks for posting! :thumb:

I found it when doing some digging on the character board. (found out who was on the admissions board and on the character board this year, some of which are on both) All are open instructions and notices. But this proved to be the most notable post from the administration; outlining the statistics behind the differences between the service members and civilians making decisions, and how much certain key points on your admissions file weigh against each other.

The report is from 2005, so difficult to tell what may have changed since then.

In the grand scheme, this provides a very good invasive look at the whole operation. Not much can change in a decade. Sure they may have different statistics on whether they want smarts or atheletes from year to year, but this is a brilliant read regardless.
