Just for fun, raise your hand if you have met someone IRL, that you first met on these forums

Yes, @HCopter and I joke that we were BFF's on SAF through the application process. We connected because we were both in TX. We live 4 hours apart but had dinner together last Fall when I was traveling for work and now stay in touch outside of SAF through texting, occasional calls, and Facebook. It is fun to compare notes and photos of our kiddos' first years at USNA and USAFA, respectively. She is only the second person I know in real life who has an SA kid.

Fun topic, @justdoit19 .

I connected with a mom during the application process for each of my sons. A battle buddy.

My older Mid’s Mom-friend and I met in person for the first time during his Iday. The boys have had a class or two together. She and I are still close. Had a trip planned together actually that fell through. We will always keep in touch.

I also connected with a SA Forum battle buddy this plebe ‘24 cycle. I’m sure we would have met in Annapolis as well, but stupid covid. Someday maybe! Hopefully!!

And there is another I’m sure I’ll meet at some point from here...from last year’s class. So my life has been enriched!!

So I’ve met in person one...and will meet two more at some point! From all corners of the country. Very cool!

I have met a total of 6 over the course of the years. I have celebrated commissionings, retirements, pilot winging ceremonies, holidays and just because with them.

I met one of my good friends @WishfulThinking here! Haven’t met face to face, but lots of snapchat and instagram talk.

She and I both attended boy’s and girl’s state respectively. She just graduated from basic at USMAPS, actually. She says it’s as tough as they say it is ;)

Hey there, how is your fall semester looking??

I came within 50 feet and/or 5 minutes of meeting one of the ROOs on here once. Unfortunately it was lab day and he was unavailable.

I’ve met several over the years. Christcorp and Flieger83 at the Thudgate party, and many USAFA Class of 2011 parents who do not frequent the forums anymore. I’ve become FB friends with a few posters and enjoy seeing what they and their SA and ROTC grads are doing.

I have not, but DW was at a football game last year where DS was leading the color guard. She and a father were crouching down in front to get pictures and the started talking. Turns out his DS was now a 4/c and I had given him some advice that was actually helpful during his DS' process.
