Is there any way I can request to change the session? I just learned that I have a big family event during Session 1 and I may not be able to go. Any advice would be great.

Never mind I found the Session switch request, does anyone know what will happen if I request to switch and It's not granted? Will I still have a slot in session 1?

My son was accepted to session 2 last year, but realized it conflicted with Boy’s State. He couldn’t attend session 1 because he was still in school. He sent an email requesting to attend session 3, and the request was granted.

DS had a similar situation, and simply told USNA he would like to switch but would make the original dates work, if needed, to not miss out on the opportunity (not sure mom ever really agreed with that! LOL). I think that they get that life and families have competing priorities, and they worked it out for him. As I recall DS was fairly worried at the time that it would look bad that he wasn't prioritizing SS over all else, but it really wasn't a big deal in the end. Best of luck!

Where was this on the portal..? Can you send a screenshot ?

Since NASS has nothing to do with the application process, there would be nothing to show up in the portal.

Congratulations on the acceptance! My daughter just got her acceptance to SS Session 1 as well.

DD was accepted to Session 3. Her classmate received session 2. No idea how session allocation works. My guess is no relevance whats so ever.

Yes, DS received his acceptance for Session 2 yesterday as well.

I’ve not heard about my application yet—is that a guaranteed “no”? I went to a CVW earlier this year, and I wonder if that hurt my chances.

My DD was given a TWE for NASS in April and she had gone to 2 summer sports camps over the previous 2 years and was a Naval Sea Cadet. That was disappointing because it could have counted as an advanced training credit for USNSCC..She went sailing across the Great Lakes in a schooner instead for her advanced training. She did go to a CVW invite this past October. Among Sea Cadets the talk is we found the more exposure to USNA, the less likely you will be asked to NASS.
