Just Received Call From Congressman... Waiver granted?

Hi all, quick question. I just received a call from my congressman who informed me that I should be expecting an appointment soon. Since I have been pending a waiver for a couple of months now, does this mean West Point has granted me a waiver?

Yeah, same thing happened to me. You’ll get you envelope in the mail soon.

In case you’re insecure like me: they wouldn’t waste granting a waiver unless they were going to appoint you, especially this late into the game.

Almost certainly. Your MOC would only call with word of an appointment after being informed by USMA. MOC's are given 72 hours to personally notify appointee before USMA makes notification.

Always a chance of a screwup and crossed signals, but that is the procedure.

In this case, I agree that he will receive an appointment. However, I wanted to point out to others reading that getting a waiver does not guarantee an appointment. I received a medical waiver for asthma in March, and received a TWE in mid April.
