Gov. Kathleen Sebelius says the war in Iraq has exposed holes in domestic disaster response like the one currently underway in tornado-ravaged Kansas.

The governor said about half the state’s National Guard trucks are in Iraq, equipment that would be helpful in removing debris. Sebelius, who asked the Pentagon in December to replenish lost resources, said the state also is missing a number of well-trained personnel....

The situation isn't going to improve while those in power are playing politics with the resources required to fight the War Against Jihad.

With all due respect to Gov. Sebelius and/or the reporter, no National Guard truck is going to be removing 'debris' from Greensburg, KS. That job is left up to the affected municipal and county governments or the contractor(s) they hire. I can guarantee her that there are entire fleets of specialized debris hauling trucks ready to mobilize to Kansas even before the contract is signed.

It sounds like someone's anti-war attitude found an opportunity, albeit not factual, to vent.
