Keep calm?

DS got an “advisement” from USNA urging him to finish his application. It seems pretty standard to me, but it seemed odd as the only thing open is BGO interview. The phrasing was “keep calm and finish your application”.
Anyone else?

I didn't get this, but I only have my essay and being cleared by DoDMERB left. If your DS isn't very far along yet, it is probably just a reminder.

I got the same thing. All I’m waiting for is BGO.

DS got an email from one of the coaches yesterday encouraging “them” to keep working though their applications. Appeared to be a general email to potential athletes in that sport. DS is not a recruited athlete and has been CPR since mid-August.

I posted about this as I received the email as well. It is an "Letter of Encouragement (LOE)" apparently which is standard if you have completed a lot of your application, but haven't completed anything for a while.

My son got this too but slightly weird to us because everything remaining (one teacher rec, college transcript, and CFA submission) is all waiting on other people to complete (though USNA doesn't know the transcripts are in process). But he has been done except for those for a few weeks.

My DD is currently a Plebe at USNA. We did receive similar notifications prior to her appointment. This is normal for the service academies. I would encourage you to complete these as fast as possible. I’ve no idea of the actual selection process, it seems to be a closely guarded secret but you can bet they look at an applicants application process.

Admissions boards have already begun meeting (as LOAs are already being awarded) so it's imperative that candidates complete apps ASAP!! myself included

Our DS got that email twice beginning in July and then mid August. He interviewed with BGO mid August, Medically qualified end August, BGO submitted and marked completed pending review day after BGO submitted. Now we wait......and he trains for a better CFA and finishes NROTC and Common App. Good luck to all!

For all sorts of reasons, USNA doesn't like getting a flood of applications at the end (December/January). So, they encourage folks to get their applications in earlier in the cycle. It's good for candidates as well to get the application completed. Don't read anything more into it than that.

DS received the email Greetings..apply today. His application was already CPR so the subject line Greetings from USNA stopped him in his tracks. [emoji23] lol
