Keeping Calm

My DD is reading game of thrones right now plus 2 other books about USNA.
GOT books surprised me, I loved them and am impatiently and grumpily waiting for last book while the author writes preclude novels. Ugh.

I completely understand what you're going through. I would obsess over these forums and check my portal several times a day. To help subside that, I found additional hobbies. Obviously, that's easier said than done but I can at least give you a few suggestions.

What I've found interesting is long-term investing. There's plenty of information out there to get started and if you're 18, you can easily open an account through a credible company like Vanguard. If you have a job, a Roth IRA would be a good start. Just remember you have until April 15 to contribute to it from your income in 2020. What I've learned is that it's never too early to start investing.

Reading has done wonders for passing the time. Especially books about leadership or something you're interested in. I recently read Norman Schwarzkopf's autobiography, It Doesn't Take a Hero. It was a fantastic book and it's a great book to start with. You'll be going to a school that teaches you how to be an effective military leader. Why not get a head start? Like President Truman said, "Not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers.”

Weightlifting. You probably saw this one coming. Nothing better than pushing yourself to get one more rep or smashing a new PR. You'll also get more in shape for BCT.

But most of all, spend quality time with your family and friends. If you get accepted, you'll be leaving in four short months! Why not make the most of it?

I hope this helps :)

There is no such thing as a "binding" Early Action school in the United States to my knowledge.

Did you mean to say binding for Early Decision?
Restrictive Early Action and Early Action.

One Early Action school accepted DS last December (sent non refundable deposit already to one... which is also listed in his AROTC School of Intent - for the third board in March).

This is still not binding, just limits what other EA schools you can apply to.

At this point... we’re ready to go Plan B. Please relax... I was giving advice to parents about not to stress out. Instead of being argumentative and conflicted, back off.

Nobody is arguing with you and your "description" is completely inaccurate. You are posting incorrect information as "advice" that doesn't help anyone, as EA is NEVER binding - end of story.

You have been on here for two weeks, have posted in a million threads and some of your information has been....a bit off. Additionally, you are getting into it with others, etc.:

Probably best if you take a break for a day or two to regroup?

That all helps a lot!! Thank you very much!!

If my ds were not so busy with school (ours has been open all school year, just not as many EC's) he would be spending time on the internet looking at and dreaming about classic cars, lol.

I'm a third time re-applicant, so this is my third time playing the waiting game. The ball is out of your court at this point. I put pictures up and everyday when I walk out of my room I say "I will get accepted to USAFA". This comforts me a bit knowing I'm putting it out into the universe. I snowboard so that has been a huge outlet for me along with working out. School keeps me pretty busy also :D
