Keeping Plan B?

Now that DS has received his appointment, how long do we keep plan B? He's not going to change his mind, but in the unlikely event he gets an injury [he plays a spring sport] and cannot report, we are wondering if it is advisable to keep the back up plan 'live' until he actually reports. Do others do this?
 
Keep plan "B" alive. Most will refund after Academy I day but if they don't it is a small price to pay.
 
If Plan B included NROTC scholarship it is best to let your NROTC sponsor know about the academy appointment so that slot can be assigned to another deserving candidate.
 
Let them know but always keep it in the back pocket.

Thanks, we'll let the University know and make a deposit. As much as I dislike the idea, it does seem like the prudent thing to do.
