Does anyone know when we could be hearing from Admissions at USMMA?
Just wondering.....Thank you
Are you checking your portal?

What are you expecting to hear? - there will be some status updates on your online admissions portal - and you can call admissions with questions. They are very helpful and reassuring, just make sure the phone call is from the candidate and not the parents.
My DS received a LOA first week in January. (This was 2013 for admission for July 2013).
First week of March was time frame for appointment letter (BFE) and phone call from MOC (Congressman that awarded him his nomination).
Thank you very much. Can you please tell me what LOA stands for?
Letter of Assurance. = The golden ticket that says your in as long as you meet all of the requirements for Admission. LOA's are given anywhere from September on past December in an effort to attract highly qualified candidates and recruited athletes.
Thank you so much for the information.
DS received his USMMA LOA a couple of weeks ago. It is dated 16 Oct, so they have most likely begun the process of reviewing records. This particular LOA states "an appointment has been reserved" which is actually worded a bit differently than the CGA LOA he received in September.
His application was complete in July, and DODMERB was accomplished in early August...so it took a couple of months from that point. I do know that the admissions portal system was undergoing some changes. DS was sent a link along with instructions on how to set up the portal access about a month ago.
Congratulations! That's terrific news. All the best.
I have heard they are currently reading applications this week. Hope to hear news soonest.
You should have a good idea by now. Right?
My DS's status is now on HOLD at USMMA. His status changed to that in early December.
I am in the same situation as your DS. Hopefully we hear some good news soon!
And my son is on HOLD as well. I hope we don't have to wait until March. It's apparent a first wave received LOA's in Nov/Dec, but I wonder when the next wave goes out?
You could wait beyond March to hear if you will be receiving an appointment. Last year there were appointments for sure in April and I think in May and June as well. As far as LOA's, not sure if any additional will be sent now. You can have your DD/DS call admissions to inquire.
Best of Luck
Here is the story. The academy did a first wave back in November of kids that had their applications complete at the time. Since then they started giving out LOA/Appointments in smaller waves. March 1st is date applications close. This is the time frame they will fill out the class with appointments (offers). After that they will offer kids when spots are open. This will go until May/June. Kids that got offered early have three options. 1. Accept 2. Decline 3. Hold off answering, they have until May 1st to say yes or no.
Do not worry if you don't get the first wave. Most kids wait to get in. This is not a regular school. This is a national school with Senators and Congressmen involved.
Buckeyeguy and Rayme,
Thank you for your responses. Much appreciated.
My DS was on hold the first time from early October until early May when he ultimately received the TWE......
He applied again the next year and was on hold again very early until early May AGAIN when at that time his portal went from hold to a blank spot. He was then awarded a Prep school appointment....
So the ride may be MUCH longer than any expects.
PM me if you have any specific questions.
Is your son currently at NMMI. And if so, how does he like it?
Thank you, FinFan. We will get our minds right for a long wait. Appreciate the feedback.
My 2015 DS found out in mid November... but the following year the kids from our state didn't hear until March. It changes year to year/ state to state.
Best of luck to you.
