Kings Point Grad Wins Belmont Stakes!

Very interesting. Thanks Kp2001 ( wondering where've you been ). That sent me to Google. I am curious of how his career path progressed from school. What were his choices right after, and so on. It is simply amazing the options that may be available to Kings Points grads. But first, on to indoc. One day at a time. And also, hurray for the quirky " bad boy " horse. Somebody, somewhere is saying " see, I told that pain in the a$$ was worth something"!

This is what I found out on the internet about George Hall and his career.

George Hall began his professional career as a nuclear engineer for the Tenneco Corporation. After receiving his MBA from Wharton in 1986, he joined Citicorp Investment Bank where he directed mortgage securities trading. From April 1989 to April 1991, he was a Vice President at Greenwich Capital Markets, a subsidiary of The Long Term Credit Bank of Japan, where he headed the mortgage arbitrage group. In August 1991, he founded the Clinton Group with backing from Itochu to specialize in trading fixed income securities using arbitrage strategies.

Nuclear engineering, MBA, etc. A real slacker, huh?:shake: dang, talk about the smartest guy in the room. You also have to have oodles of finesse to put a successful group together which it sounds like he knows how to do. Smarts and people skills to the max that is one well rounded fellow. I wonder if his ego matches his pocketbook ( more power to him if it is)? Was he a superstar at KP? I sure hope he is one of the alumni who actively supports KP.

Mr. Hall is a very nice person, his pocketbook is far larger than his ego, at least to his classmates at homecoming, he's still the same guy we went to school with.

His philanthropic deeds have also been large and have included the USMMA. In short, this success, like all his others, are befitting a really good, nice, and yes, really smart guy.

Know how to make a small fortune on a horse farm? Start with a large one! :yllol:
