The "kings point safe harbor" is developing momentum as parents, alumni and family see another way of helping the midshipmen. This is another family networking opportunity. We just found out that the number of available internships could be expanded if there were homes for mids to stay in. Sometimes the company does not provide housing for the two weeks, and the student cannot afford to live in a hotel.
So, you can volunteer for an emergency, stay overnight, transportation, two week stay for internships, whatever you want. Go to www.kpcookiecafe.com to see the ad and more about it. You parents are the absolute greatest!!

The alumni were great when we started looking for somewhere our DS could stay this summer when he did his internship in DC. Everything was short notice because he was at sea at the time and we were trying to get everything lined up.
