Labor Day weather

Hmmm...

No such thing as "normal" weather in NY. Could be rainy and 60° or brutally hot and humid. If we're all lucky it will like this weekend. In the tri-state area it's sunny, 76°, gentle breeze and nice big puffy white clouds. Yup, just about perfect.

Prepare for anything

While snow can generally be ruled out, anything else is fair game. Last year it poured. Lunch involved standing in line sinking ankle deep in mud. Plus hurricanes tend to move north later in the season so you have that to look forward to as well. However, it can be lovely mid September. My advice, hope for sun but bring foul weather gear.

Our DS enjoyed the rain last year; meant he could leave his band instrument indoors and just watch the game and do pushups like everyone else!

Given the last 2 years, I predict rain.

Sorry couldn't resist. I just hope no hurricanes decide to crash the party.

NYC Weather

September Weather:

•Average High: 76°F (24°C)
•Average Low: 61°F (16°C)
•September continues to be a warm month in New York City, but many of the summer crowds have left and evenings can be a bit cooler as the month wears on.
What to Wear:

•pack an umbrella
•a sweater or waterproof jacket (for keeping warm in the evenings)
•closed toe shoes, comfortable for walking and water-resistant, if possible

Most of the years Parents Weekend has been later in September rather than the first weekend.......I predict a beautiful blue sky.....nice, not hot weather.....and lots of smiles on parents' faces when they see their plebe candidates become plebes :)

Here is what the Farmers Almanac has to say about it:

1st-3rd. Thunderstorms, then pleasant.
4th-7th. Improving weather for Labor Day holiday: scattered showers, thunderstorms, then turning fair.:thumb::thumb:
