My son tore his labrum his sophomore year of high school (last year). He had it surgically repaired, completed physical therapy, was cleared for all sports, and is currently in his junior year football season with no issues. As we begin to prepare for him to apply to the Academies, what information should we assure is in his medical records to avoid a medical remedial to be required?

Thank you for your time and information.

I had the same surgery done, and I went through the DODMERB exams this summer after the surgery. I was still in rehab, but all I received was a remedial requesting "all transcripts associated with the shoulder surgery to be sent to Dodmerb". My ALO also told me that as long as my shoulder is "cleared for unrestricted activity" by my doctor, Ill be good to go. Your son should be fine, just be sure you have all the paperwork. Best of luck!
