Just a question for the CGA staff representatives... Our daughter will be on the last phase of the Eagle (Portsmouth to New London). It would be great to see her after her experience onboard like so many other parents enjoy. At Portsmouth she will just be starting the journey so it would not make sense to visit her then. In New London, she will be back at the home town of the Academy. We understand that we will not know her schedule or what duty she will have when the ship arrives in New London. Have you heard if the swabs will have any liberty at New London at all or just be returned to the Academy since it is the home town?

You should probably post this to the parents List serv. If you aren't part of that you really should be. Based on what I've read there many swabs are getting liberty (even overnight) on the front end of their Eagle cruises. Generally the last group doesn't get any liberty upon their return to New London. At least that's how it has worked in the past.

How do you sign up for the parents list serv?

Here's the link: http://www.uscgaparents.org/index.html

If this doesn't work then just go to the www.uscgaparents.org web site and look for the brown List Signup button.
At some point you will need to become a member of the USCGA Parent's Association to continue accessing the list. If you go to Parent's Weekend there will be a table that can answer questions about membership.

Generally, in past years, the last wave of Eagle didn't receive any liberty after getting in to New London as they are wrapping up their swab summer experience. You never know for sure...so Semper Gumby! (Next real opportunity for any 4/C liberty is normally Labor Day weekend, depending on duty and sports obligations of course)
